RTP 3.0 is a long-term planning initiative guiding the evolution of Research Triangle Park (RTP) over the next 50 years. It expands how land can be used in the Park, enabling companies to modernize campuses, accelerate research and development, attract talent and build vibrant work-live environments.

Amenities like on-site housing, retail, dining and community events are increasingly important factors for today's workforce. By making RTP more walkable, connected and accessible, RTP 3.0 reflects these evolving expectations while uplifting the businesses operating in the Park.

Moving from vision to action, RTP 3.0 introduces new development standards and design guidelines that create a flexible framework for phased growth, mixed-use integration and future-ready infrastructure. Companies, developers and innovation partners are invited to submit development interest and help define the next generation of RTP.

RTP landowners can submit applications under the enhanced development standards starting on July 16.

RTP 3.0's new development standards and design guidelines include:

Additionally, new fee schedules have been adopted to support the RTP development review process, including:

RTP 3.0 implementation is guided by two adopted plans:

Interested landowners, developers, and others may learn more about the adopted standards and guidelines and development review process by attending RTP 3.0 Lunch and Learn: Reimagine the Park on August 13 at 11:30 am.
