Outside World, Inside Impact: Business Supporting Civic Engagement
According to a March 2019 Forbes’ magazine article, today’s employees expect businesses to think of civic issues, equity, environment, and other causes alongside profit. HR executives know that today’s top talent expects businesses to think of civic issues, equity, environment, and other causes alongside profit.
To make a meaningful contribution to people and the bottom line, companies recognize that life outside of work informs and shapes work life and culture. How can companies create space inside their organizations to acknowledge important societal issues, including the recent protests in our own community and around the U.S., and the systemic racism that gave rise to them?
Join us on June 30 for our first virtual Courageous Conversation where you will gain tools and insights about how your company can empower honest conversations that lead to positive change.
You will hear from Opal Tometi, along with other panelists. She is a social activist and co-creator of the viral Twitter hashtag and movement, #BlackLivesMatter. Tometi will discuss the importance of organizing and standing together to transform society into a world where the lives and contributions of all individuals are recognized equally.
Tometi was named a “New Civil Rights Leader” by the Los Angeles Times and ESSENCE Magazine for her work building movements that bridge immigrant and human rights initiatives to the black liberation movement. She also was honored on The Root’s 2015 Top 100 List for the Black Lives Matter movement’s social and political impact.
Register today and we will see you online on June 30.
