The RTP DEI Collective leads the STEM RTP grant program application and review process with support from RTF, stewards of RTP. The grantmaking program, now in its fourth year, continues to gain momentum and reach more organizations.

“It is truly humbling to witness the profound impact of the STEM RTP Grantmaking program in supporting underserved communities in North Carolina over the past four years,” said Tamara Terry, director of academic research engagement, RTI International and RTP DEI Collective Chair. “We are proud to distribute these funds to organizations that inspire and create opportunities for our future leaders. Diversifying the talent pipeline in RTP and across North Carolina begins with the work of these organizations, which motivates us to continue enhancing this initiative.”

The RTP Charitable Fund works to develop and enrich RTP’s diverse geographic and demographic all-inclusive community. The Fund fulfills its mission through active public engagement in purposefully crafted programs, such as STEM RTP, aimed at fostering socially and environmentally responsible activities spanning arts, education, recreation, celebration and locally grounded human and societal services. These initiatives collectively strive to heighten awareness and knowledge among individuals from the wider public, particularly those whose livelihoods are intricately connected to the success of RTP and the state of North Carolina.

The next grant application request will be released in early summer 2025 to continue supporting organizations working in the space where DEI and STEM collide.
