5-story development is the first building to be erected at RTP’s new downtown project
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC (May 15, 2023) – White Point and the Research Triangle Foundation announce the topping out of Horseshoe at Hub RTP, hitting another milestone for the highly anticipated Hub RTP downtown project. The erection of the structural steel is now complete for the $75M mixed-use project, set to open in the Summer of 2024.
Horseshoe is being developed as Hub RTP’s gathering place, where the next generation of entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and members of the Triangle Region can socialize and be enriched by the promise of the Research Triangle Park (RTP), where living history, people and ideas converge. With Hub RTP, the Park enters a new chapter of social vibrancy and progress
Upon final completion, Horseshoe will offer up to 40,000 square feet of food and beverage options, public art, amenities and programming. The 158,000 square foot trio of buildings will wrap around a central outdoor courtyard, overlooking 16 acres of greenspace, connecting to streamside boardwalks and the central convergence of RTP’s existing 20+ mile trail system. The hope is that Horseshoe will not just be the gathering place for Hub RTP, but it will also help attract talent for RTP’s 400+ companies and promoting a collaborative, inspiring environment. Plans for programming and public art are underway.
Horseshoe’s brand identity is two-fold, taking inspiration from the shape of the buildings and leaning into the symbol of attraction and magnets. As the entryway to Hub RTP, it takes shape as the focal point that orients the community in coming together.
In October 2022, Horseshoe broke ground with a groundbreaking ceremony with stakeholders and partners of the Research Triangle Foundation, stewards of RTP.
JLL is the leasing agent for the office component while CBRE is the leasing agent for the retail component.
At full build out, Hub RTP boasts of one million square feet of custom office and lab space, 50,000 square feet of retail, 1,200 residential apartments, 250 hotel rooms, and more. Hub RTP is the first mixed-use development and downtown core for America’s largest research park.
