Banking giant Credit Suisse adds 1,200 new jobs in North Carolina as it opens new state-of-the-art facility in RTP. The Bank is a leading multinational financial services company with strong investment banking capabilities founded and based in Switzerland.

June 27, 2019 marked the grand opening of Credit Suisse‘s new state-of-the-art facility in RTP. The 250,000 square-foot building is equipped with smart working capabilities, security technology, a conference center, outdoor amenities, and is on track to achieve LEED Gold Certification by the end of the year. Other prominent features include gender-neutral bathrooms and designated parking lots for expectant mothers, reflecting the global brand’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The new facility is more than just a building. It means Credit Suisse is here to stay, a common theme expressed by the company’s leadership at the opening event. Top executives from the bank and community leaders converged at the grand opening to celebrate the shared milestone. “We welcome Credit Suisse’s expansion and the positive impact it is having on the Research Triangle and Wake County,” said U.S. Senator Thom Tillis in a video. “Our region provides a strong source of talent for Credit Suisse, and the new jobs being created will have a lasting impact on the economic prosperity of our region.”

In 2017, Credit Suisse announced it would expand its presence in RTP, a move involving over $100 million in investments and the creation of 1,200 jobs—an investment that today validates a successful and thriving 15-year history in North Carolina.

Credit Suisse was the first major financial services firm to locate in the Park. In 2005, it announced its now global business center would be located in RTP. That announcement was met by an unmatched climate of local talent and resources that would continue to fuel business for the Swiss banking giant, making its Raleigh campus the fastest growing CS office location in the United States. “The work done on our campus in Raleigh has an impact on Credit Suisse’s global business,” said Urs Rohner, chairman of the board. “The expansion into RTP helps us to be more sustainable, resilient and effective.”

Deepening Credit Suisse’s roots in the Triangle helps achieve two primary goals, explains Sophia Wajnert, head of CS Raleigh. “First, it further optimizes our workforce strategy by bringing our people together in a state-of-the-art facility designed to drive creativity and collaboration,” says Sophia. “Secondly, RTP is the perfect location for Credit Suisse to attract the right kind of talent to support our global businesses.”

The RTP office touches all aspects of the bank’s global operations, including Information Technology, Legal and Compliance, Human Resources, Group Business Support Services, Risk, Finance and a host of other functional teams that drive innovative solutions for each of Credit Suisse’s global businesses.

Credit Suisse is headquartered in Zurich and employs more than 46,000 people across 50 countries. 2,000 CS employees are currently based in Raleigh. Take a closer look at their new RTP facility below:
