When people learn I work for the Foundation that manages The Research Triangle Park, they often ask me what interesting things are happening in RTP. One answer that I like to give is that you would be surprised how many breakthrough, innovative medical devices are being created and tested right here in our backyard!
For example, UVision360 has a very promising new all-in-one hysteroscopy product that is competing in the Medtech Startup Showdown this month. Founded in 2016, UVision360 is a women’s health medical device start-up focused on the simplification of hysteroscopic systems. Soon after their start, they received a $250,000 NC Biotechnology Center Small Business Research Loan to advance their office-based gynecological system tools. Now their product is almost to market–it is in validation testing and expected to launch in late 2017.
