RTP Fit Presents: Free Fitness Classes!
Starts April 20th, The Frontier

There will now be free fitness classes for all twice a week at The Frontier! On Monday’s you can hit up a Cardio Class at 4:45pm and Wednesday’s there’s Yoga at 11:30am. See you then!

Disrupt: The Precarious Role of Media in Global & Social Disruption
April 15th, The Frontier

At our first Disrupt of 2015 we’ll hear from two Eisenhower Fellows that work in the modern media industry and are using their fellowship to try to understand the complexities of the ever changing industry. Networking with local beer and snacks will begin at 5:00pm with the speakers starting at 5:30pm. Refreshments will be served after the talks have concluded.

RTP STEM Expo

On April 24th from 10am-2pm, US2020 RTP will host the RTP STEM Expo. The Expo will expose over 1000 underserved middle and high school students from across North Carolina to STEM careers. The RTP STEM Expo is a new, signature event of the NC Science Festival. Books on Break
April 13th – May 1st

Have any lightly used children’s books around the house? Donate them to local Durham students to help the battle against summer reading loss! RTP’s Books on Break donation program is gearing up to start this April 13th through May 1st. We will be accepting books and donations in partnership with Book Harvest, a local charity. There will be donation locations throughout the Park, including the lobby of The Frontier.

Science Day at The U.S. EPA!
April 21st, EPA in RTP

Every Day is Earth Day at the U.S. EPA! Want to learn about EPA’s cutting-edge environmental research? From 10:30am-11:30 am, we’ll offer 10-minute “lightning talks” on innovative EPA science being conducted in RTP. From 11:30am – 12:30pm there will be an informal lunch presentation detailing sustainability efforts on our campus. Visitors can bring their own lunch or purchase lunch in the EPA Café. Next, visitors will be treated to a behind-the-scenes campus tour from 12:30-1:30pm. Space is limited and attendees must preregister by April 15, be 18 or older, and present a valid government-issued photo ID. To register, e-mail Kelly Witter witter.kelly@epa.gov

If you are a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) professional and would like to mentor youth, you can sign up with US2020 RTP. We inspire underserved populations to pursue STEM careers. Take our 45-minute online training and select an opportunity on our mentor matching platform. Opportunities serve students K-16 and take place at different times and locations around The Triangle.
