Jacoby Kolanko joined the Research Triangle Foundation of NC in October 2025 as a Programs Coordinator. In this role, Jacoby plans, coordinates, and executes community programs and events across Boxyard RTP and Frontier RTP, creating inclusive and engaging experiences that bring people together and strengthen the RTP community. He supports the Programming & Placemaking team, working closely with the Marketing & Communications and Property Management teams to deliver creative, high-quality events and activations that contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of Hub RTP and the broader Triangle region.
Before joining the Foundation, Jacoby worked for the Town of Apex on the Special Events Team, where he coordinated logistics for Town-sponsored events ranging from 50 to over 15,000 attendees. During this time, he collaborated with the Town Council and Mayor while planning and executing large-scale community celebrations, established the Town’s first-ever 3v3 Basketball Tournament, created an event policy for parades, walks, and races, and led teams of volunteers to keep events running efficiently. Jacoby also gained hands-on experience in marketing, sponsorship outreach, and budget management through his work in community programming and event operations.
Jacoby holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management, with minors in Business Administration and Business Entrepreneurship, graduating a year early from North Carolina State University. He is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and outside of work enjoys staying active, connecting with the local sports community, and discovering new event and entertainment experiences.
