
Caroline Thies joined the Research Triangle Foundation as the Marketing Coordinator in June 2025. She is passionate about the role brand storytelling plays in business development and community building. Prior to joining RTF, she graduated with highest honors from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising from the College of Media, and a Business Minor. Caroline worked as the Senior Communications and Social Media Intern at the University of Illinois Research Park for two years. In this role, she was the project manager for the 10th Annual AgTech Summit, promoted federal funding opportunities for startups at America’s Seed Fund Road Tour, wrote and designed two Year in Review booklets, connected students with internship and job opportunities, and more.
In her spare time, Caroline enjoys reading, running, and exploring local amenities.
