
New outdoor stage in Hub RTP expands live programming and free community event experiences in Research Triangle Park
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (March 2, 2026) — Live music is taking center stage in Research Triangle Park (RTP) with the opening of a new outdoor performance stage at Hub RTP, launching two free concert series that bring national and North Carolina talent to the Park’s vibrant, downtown district. The expanded programming introduces weekly and monthly performances designed for both the lunchtime business crowd and weekend visitors seeking family-friendly entertainment.
Located within steps of Horseshoe at Hub RTP, the new stage builds on Hub RTP’s growing slate of community-wideprogramming, expands RTP’s cultural footprint and creates more reasons for people to gather in North America’s largest research park.
Presented in partnership with Sonic Pie Productions, the two new, recurring concert series called “Shuffle” and “Concerts on the Creek” are open to all. Both series highlight a wide range of artists, from emerging regional performers to nationally recognized acts, with the inaugural lineup including musicians inducted into the Funk Hall of Fame, featured in Rolling Stone’s “Top 25 Country-Soul Albums of All Time” and showcased on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” Season 14.

- This artist-in-residence-style music series elevates the weekday lunch hour into a musical recharge for RTP employees and beyond. With monthly rotating artists, Shuffle brings a fresh, consistent rhythm to the Hub RTP campus and offers a midday break that blends creativity, connection and community.

- Families, friends and music lovers are invited to gather alongside Hub RTP’s Burdens Creek boardwalk for an open-air showcase of standout performers and nationally acclaimed musical talent. The format transforms the creekside into a lively space for all ages and gives Triangle area locals and visitors a new weekend entertainment option in RTP. The nearby splashpad is open seasonally for families to roam and explore the grounds while enjoying the tunes.
Hub RTP’s live music programming takes place seasonally in the spring from March through June and in the fall from September through October. The season kicks off with a diverse lineup of funk, country-western, soul, brassand global rhythms. The full schedule includes:

“We’ve worked with Boxyard RTP for nearly five years to spotlight local musicians and establish the venue as a must-visit destination for live music in the Triangle,” said Tess Mangum, founder and CEO, Sonic Pie Productions. “Now, we’re excited to expand this partnership and bring that same lively energy to Hub RTP. Hub RTP offers a dynamic mix of year-round programming across its 100-acre campus. Located on the western side of Hub RTP’s campus, Boxyard RTP has helped set the tone for music and performances in the Park. Voted by Durham Magazine readers as Best Large Venue for Live Music, Boxyard offers a variety of hyper-local retail and restaurant options, including Bulkogi, Fullsteam Brewery, La Taqueria and more.
Horseshoe at Hub RTP is an office-over-retail project located on the eastern side of campus next to the Hub RTP stage, courtyard and splashpad. Concerts on the Creek and Shuffle attendees can choose from coffee, treats and grab-and-go meals, beverage and snacks from Horseshoe retailers and restaurants, including DRIFT, Cheeni and Nanny Goat. With the first office tenants moving in, additional concepts are coming soon to Horseshoe, including Di Fara Pizza Tavern, High Horse and Prime STQ.
