RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (January 28, 2026) — Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is requesting feedback from the community as it plans routes for the new Triangle Bikeway, a 23-mile shared use path linking Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Research Triangle Park (RTP), Durham and Chapel Hill.
The eastern portion of the project, which comprises approximately 14 miles and links RTP to Raleigh, is funded by Wake County and the Research Triangle Foundation, stewards of RTP.
“As a funding partner for this study, Research Triangle Park is excited about the opportunities that a bold regional vision like the Triangle Bikeway could bring to RTP and the entire I-40 corridor in our region,” said Travis Crayton, vice president of planning and public policy, Research Triangle Foundation.
The community is invited to submit their feedback from now until Feb. 25, 2026, at the following link: https://publicinput.com/b51024.
CAMPO is also hosting three informal drop-in sessions for the public to learn more, ask questions about the project and provide feedback. The third information session will take place at Boxyard RTP on Thursday, Feb. 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
