RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. [August 22, 2025] – With plans to expand its workforce in the Triangle Region, Pure Storage (NYSE: PSTG), a global leader in advanced data storage, has opened an East Coast office at Hub RTP, the vibrant downtown district of Research Triangle Park (RTP).
As reported by the Triangle Business Journal, the public company made a $1.3 million investment to upfit a 7,600-square-foot office space at 4000 Sancar Way in Durham, N.C., to accommodate up to 80 employees, establishing a strategic base for growth and innovation. Employees marked the milestone with a ribbon-cutting and daylong celebration that featured a fireside chat with Chief Customer Experience Officer Joe Pinto, Vice President of Technical Service John Boggs, and Vice President of CX Customer Advocacy Suhil Rathod.
Leaders from Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina, the organization that stewards RTP, welcomed Pure Storage at the event. Representatives for RTP, including Carolyn Coia, Vice President of Real Estate, and Kelly Propst, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, emphasized RTP’s commitment to building a downtown ecosystem where innovative companies can grow.
With proximity to Raleigh-Durham International Airport and leading universities, Pure Storage chose Hub RTP for its central location, rich amenities and access to North Carolina’s deep talent pool. Hub RTP offers up to one million square feet of office and lab space, a mix of retail and dining, 1,200 residential units, a hotel and 16 acres of connected greenspace, creating a true live-work-play environment.
“Pure Storage’s decision reinforces our role as a force in attracting top businesses to the Triangle,” said Coia. “Leading companies need more than just office space. They want a complete ecosystem that can attract top-tier talent, foster innovation and set them apart. Hub RTP delivers that, offering the amenities and collaborative energy that make RTP a premier destination for growth.”
Pure Storage employs about 5,600 people worldwide. Locally, it has already hired 40 to 50 employees and continues to recruit experienced professionals, recent graduates and veterans and expects to increase its headcount by 30% to 50% over the next year.
