RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.—This week, Devada (formerly DZone) cut the ribbon on their stunning new office space at The Frontier campus in RTP. The company provides one of the world’s largest online communities for developers, as well as the software behind developer communities for companies across the globe. Devada is the first anchor tenant in the Frontier 600 building, and has relocated their headquarters to The Frontier from Cary. They will soon be joined by Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) in October and Zaloni early next year. Two growing businesses already based at The Frontier, Cloud Giants and Global Teaching Partners, will also move into Frontier 600 in early 2019.

“We’ve loved having our headquarters at Frontier 800,” says Kelly Pfrommer, CEO of Cloud Giants. “It’s been the perfect space for us to grow, connect with the RTP community, and be a part of something special—an accessible coworking space with dynamic programming, diverse businesses, and great energy. We’re thrilled to be taking the next step for our company and moving to a new office space in Frontier 600 this coming winter.”

Another building, Frontier 400, will house affordable wet lab and office space for biotech and life science startups. The first to move in is Redbud Labs, a microfluidic chip manufacturer that launched its first product, MXR, in 2017, and moved to The Frontier in August. More than 15 companies, including ZY Therapeutics, HealthSpan DX and MAA Laboratories, have leases in place, and the building is 76% leased.

The Frontier concept, owned and developed by The Research Triangle Foundation of NC (RTF), began in January 2015, bringing life to a former IBM building at 800 Park Offices Drive. An active community of coworkers, freelancers, and startups quickly proved that experiment a success, and earlier this year RTF announced additional buildings on Park Offices Drive would be activated.

“We have enjoyed watching Devada make the unique spaces at The Frontier their own over the past few months, and look forward to welcoming more companies to this creative hub at the heart of Research Triangle Park,” says Scott Levitan, President & CEO of RTF.
