About the Program
Who is Inspiring Capital?
Inspiring Capital facilitates learning and development through impact. We believe that the current workplace crisis, with 85% of employees disengaged, costing the US $550 billion a year, stems from the disconnect between our work and today’s social and environmental problems. Humans instinctively want to be part of something larger with a positive impact on the world.
The good news is that there’s more opportunity now than ever for employees in any industry, function, and level to contribute to social and environmental solutions through their work. But we’re failing to help employees understand and realize those opportunities, which leaves a lot on the table for the business, its employees, and our broader community.
Inspiring Capital connects your employees to today’s larger social and environmental challenges, highlighting opportunities to address those problems in their current role, at your firm, and/or in the broader community. We do this through our workshops, pro-bono consulting opportunities, membership platform, and events.
Employers who plug into IC’s ecosystem (of purpose-driven for-profits, not-for-profits, social enterprises, and highly-qualified, diverse professionals) benefit from a more engaged, productive, and loyal workforce that’s excited about addressing today’s big problems from their seat at your firm.
Why Inspiring Capital has chosen RTP
When Inspiring Capital was considering the Raleigh-Durham area as our second market, many roads led to the Frontier. As we met the RTP team and saw the many ways that their mission of providing the “freedom and support to pursue bold ideas” plays out in the region, partnership was a no-brainer for us.
The Future of Talent
The Future of Talent initiative is the foundational element of our partnership, leveraging each partner’s strength in service to Triangle employers and professionals. RTP’s strong relationships and central location, combined with Inspiring Capital’s approach to integrating purpose and profit, have created a productive platform to help RTP employers thrive in the twenty-first century economy.
The unique format of the events, combining closed-door expert roundtables with interactive public fora, revealed important and actionable insights about attracting, developing, and retaining talent in today’s competitive labor market. Participants appreciated the honest, open, and action-oriented dialog among professionals who share common interests but don’t have other opportunities to connect.
Conversations held in 2017 covered mid-career women, Millennials, diverse and underrepresented talent, and university to work pipelines. The conversations led to white papers on some topics, and a number of follow-on conversations and ideas for 2018. In 2018, we’ll go deeper into these topics, and build out tip sheets and other tools to help participants implement the insights revealed, and bring them back to their organizations.
