RTP 180: A Generosity of Spirit

The Research Triangle Park was founded on this very notion, something Archie K. RTP Fit: Balancing Fitness in Your Workplace

Having trouble finding the right balance between being fit and the daily grind at work? Join us for the first of our RTP Fit lunch and learns where Mike Tuggle of Duke Health and Fitness will be speaking about ways to incorporate simple activities into our day in order to encourage fitness and wellness at work – without ever breaking a sweat. A free, healthy lunch will be provided, so come hungry and ready to learn!

Tech staffers affected by recent Cisco layoffs are encouraged to apply for the Landing Spot at American Underground. Former employees looking to scratch that entrepreneurial itch can apply for free space at any AU location in order to work on development of a new product idea or business venture. 

RTP Breakfast Food Truck Rodeo

Come on out and get your breakfast on from 7:30am – 9:30am in the heart of the Research Triangle Park! Breakfast rodeos are now held the first and third Thursdays of each month, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and to check out our Events Calendar for an up to date list of the trucks that will be present.

IBM Bluemix IoT Design Challenge Kickoff

Want to catch the third wave of the Internet opportunities? Think you have the best idea and want to build a prototype in days not months, with or without coding skills? Then come to the Internet of Things (IoT) Design Challenge. You can compete in this challenge solo or have a team of up to four people. Come to the Design Challenge Kickoff and Matchmaking event on Nov. 7 to find your design challenge partners.

The Missing Link in the Science-Society Relationship
Nov. 18th, Duke Sanford School of Public Policy

Mark Frankel, PhD, Director of the Scientific Responsibility, Human Rights and Law Program at AAAS, will lead a discussion at Duke University as part of the Science & Society Distinguished Speaker Series on Policy Literacy for Scientist: The Missing Link in the Science-Society Relationship. He will be describing the challenges that scientists face in the policy arena and offering recommendations for improving the science-society relationship.
