Women in Bio - RTP's Young Women In Bio group is excited to announce its third event of 2016! Girls in 6th-8th grade are invited to experience the high-tech Bayer CropScience adjustable-climate research greenhouse in RTP.
Built in July, 2012, Greenhouse 5 is a 60,000 square foot building that houses office space, seeding areas, and an entire third floor dedicated to greenhouse space. Research and Development at the site focuses on the growth and resistance of corn and soybean to herbicides, insecticides, and nematode infections, as well as molecular breeding and the development of data packages for trait deregulation.
This event will include an introduction to the greenhouse, an informative Q&A session with the amazing scientists who work there, and a full tour of the greenhouse. Advanced registration is required. Due to limited seating, walk-ins will not be accepted and parents are unable to participate at the event.
