Young Women In Bio Visits the Bayer Crop Science

Bayer | 2 TW Alexander Drive Durham, NC Aug 17 3:15 pm - Aug 17 5:00 pm

Girls in 9th-12th grade are invited to experience the high-tech Bayer Crop Science adjustable-climate research greenhouse in RTP. Built in July 2012, "Greenhouse 5" is a 60,000 square foot building housing office space, seeding areas, and an entire third floor dedicated to greenhouse space. Research and Development at the site focuses on the growth and resistance of corn and soybean to herbicides, insecticides, and nematode infections, as well as molecular breeding and the development of data packages for trait deregulation.

If touring the greenhouse is not enough, we will also visit Bayer's North American Bee Care Center to learn about why honey bees are important and what we can do to support and promote honey bee health!
