WeDigBio is an international event that gets people everywhere involved in the important work of digitizing data from biological research collections. From bee specimen data labels to old collections log books, citizen scientists play a crucial role in helping scientists worldwide make research collections data publicly available. You can participate in WeDigBio locally with the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and the NCSU Libraries! Join us for a two-hour workshop where you will learn about the purpose and value of research collections, see collections specimens up close, and get involved in the CitSciScribe project. Your work with CitSciScribe will help local researchers transcribe data records for the NCMNS reptile and amphibian, fish, and invertebrate collections and help us show the rest of the world what Raleigh’s citizen scientists are capable of!
