If you remember where you were on September 11, 2001, and how the world changed forever, chances are great that you also remember the incredible heroism which was shown by the FDNY, NYPD, and other first responders who rushed in to save others.
If you still marvel at those first responders’ courage and selfless service in the face of disaster… if you value the service and sacrifices of our local first respondenrs who make our Triangle one of the best places in the country to live. The Tunnel to Towers Triangle 5k Run/Walk at 7 pm on Saturday, September 12, in the RTP is the perfect opportunity for you to pay tribute to the heroism of all firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS/rescue personnel, and the men and women of our armed forces.
What will this year’s T to T Triangle 5k Run/Walk include?
- Before the run: Activities and first responder displays for families and children;
- During the run: One of the most patriotic local experiences for runners and walkers;
- After the run: Beer festival featuring ten local craft breweries’ ales, including one made exclusively for our T to T Triangle event; food trucks including Porchetta, PDQ, My Cup Overflows, and SubZero Ice Cream and Yogurt; and live music from Six Shots Later and The Water Between.
The proceeds of our T to T Triangle event will contribute to the building of a smart home outside of Fayetteville for NC triple amputee veteran, Marine SSgt. Thomas McRae. The groundbreaking ceremony for SSgt McRae’s smart home will be held soon.
