Teen Science Cafe: A World with Bees Oct 13 5:30 pm - Oct 13 7:30 pm

Calling all teens - let's explore current science!

Want to talk with scientists about their work? Meet other teens who like science as much as you do? Share your ideas and learn what others think, too?

Open Minds: Teen Science Café is for you! This program is just for young adults, ages 13-18, and it's free! No registration is required. Please enter the building through the Visitors Center (west end of the building) to find the cafe location.

The Teen Science Café is held on the second Friday of each month, September through May. The program begins at 5:30 p.m. with pizza (or another treat), followed by discussions and activities at 6 p.m. The program may end any time from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., depending on the scheduled activities.

A World with Bees

This presentation will take a look at the many native bees found in our own backyards and follow the life of a beekeeper throughout the calendar year.

The program will be presented by Chris Apple. Chris is a Durham County Master Gardener and a certified Journeyman beekeeper working on her Master. She has kept honeybees for about 6 years. She is currently the Outreach Director for the Orange County Beekeepers Association.
