Darkness to Light & The YMCA of The Triangle presents: Stewards of Children–Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training

The Stewards of Children training emphasizes how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. This free event is open to all and is especially recommended for those who work with or care about the well-being of children.

This event is for adults only. (16 & 17 year old youth may attend with parental permission. Email [email protected] for more info).

Due to the sensitive nature of the material, we ask that you arrive on time and stay the entirety of the training.

The training is open to the entire Triangle Ultimate community as well as the wider community and free of charge. All adults are welcome and encouraged to attend. This training is usually $35, but with the support of The Oak Foundation and YMCA of the Triangle we are able to provide the training FREE. Donations are encouraged and will go directly to support the Darkness to Light program. You can donate online at registration or in person at the training.

Triangle Ultimate is a local nonprofit that organizes and promotes the sport of Ultimate frisbee for adults and youth in the Triangle. We are excited about this new initiative which targets the prevention of child sexual abuse. This training is strongly recommended for all Triangle Ultimate volunteers, but is also open to the wider community as well. We are committed to the prevention of the long-term negative effects of childhood trauma and sexual abuse.

At the Research Triangle Foundation, it is part of our mission to lift up the people of North Carolina. We believe that children are our future, and will continue to make North Carolina great for generations to come. The Frontier is open to creative minds of all ages, and we have a strong desire to make the space as safe and welcoming as possible.
