Many children with disabilities aren't able to operate the buttons and switches found on typical toys. Santa's Little Hackers takes off-the-shelf toys and adapts them with unique switches to suit their needs. Requests for toys are taken from all over the country. Parents who have a difficult time finding toys for their disabled children, receive a free toy in time for Christmas.
This year we plan to give away 1500 adapted toys. For the first time, the Triangle will get a chance to help by adapting 350 toys in a large volunteer event on October 22, on the NC State Campus.
SPREAD THE WORD
To make all of this possible, we need 300 volunteers to help us!
We are looking for 100 people who can solder, 50 who can sew, and many others who are willing and able to do all the other tasks necessary to make this happen in a single day.
Snacks and lunch will be provided, but best of all is the great feeling that comes from making kids happy!
