TOPIC | Social Entrepreneurship, For the Greater Good
As we enter into the season of giving, let’s talk about some local companies that strive to give back. No, these aren’t nonprofits - but rather for profit companies with a charitable mission. You’re probably familiar with the mission of Tom’s or Warby Parker, but did you know the Triangle is home to quite a few companies with similar, well-meaning missions? At November’s RTP 180, we’ll celebrate these social entrepreneurs living right here in our area that believe it’s possible to make a living while also making a difference.
Speakers will begin at 6pm, but we'll open the doors at 5pm.
Christina Smith | NC B Corps Movement
Leon Grodski de Barrera | Cocoa Cinnamon
Joshua Kolling-Perin | Waste Zero
Seth Gross | Bull City Burger and Brewery
ABOUT RTP 180
Innovation. Education. Industry. These are powerful angles – and what the Research Triangle Park is known for. At “RTP 180°,” speakers from our three founding universities, local companies and the community at-large are called upon to take the stage to speak passionately about what matters to them. The show kicks off at 6pm, but our doors are open beforehand for anyone that would like to come early.
The hashtag for this event is #RTP180 and we always livestream from our YouTube channel over at www.youtube.com/TheRTPNC. Afterwards, professionally edited video segments of our speakers will be posted, in case you missed the livestream!
Tickets are free and all 300 seats are usually claimed, so register early!
