By 2050 there will be a predicted seven billion people living in urban areas; so how do we maximize efficiency, enhance quality, and reduce resource consumption? The answer is developing smart cities – urban developments that integrate technology to manage a city’s transportation systems, water supply networks, power plants, waste management, and other community services.
