This workshop will walk you through the process of identifying the information your customers are looking for online and developing a plan to provide those answers. It's that simple, once you know what your customers want - you simply need to offer what they are already looking for.

The difficult task is filtering through all the data to figure out what your customers want, and that's what we will cover in this workshop. This OptSus Marketing workshop is designed to help small businesses identify target keywords and develop a content marketing plan. Working together in a small group, we are going to walk through keyword research to develop a 12 month content calendar for your business - in one day.

Group these keywords to topic areas

Identify opportunities for content creation

Begin to create a content marketing schedule

Arrive on time and plan to spend the day working. You will need to bring a laptop and your own website to work on.

Who is leading the keyword workshop?

Frank Jones has been building websites since 1999. He is the organizer for the Raleigh SEO Meetup and helps coordinate events for the Triangle WordPress Meetup. Frank also hosts the Raleigh SEO Conference and is the owner of OptSus Marketing. He has a passion for helping small and medium businesses get the most from their marketing budget.

How can I make the most of this workshop?

First, you will need to arrive on time, with a laptop, and a website we can work on.

Beyond that, you should create accounts on the following sites:

Google AdWords (create account)

Copy this template to your Google Drive

Once you have that setup, you're ready for this workshop. Please have these accounts created before the event so we can get more done at the workshop.

Is this workshop right for me?

This workshop is for small and medium business owners that are trying to get the most from their marketing investment.

The group size is kept small so each person at the workshop will have lots of time to ask questions and receive help with their project.

Can I bring my team?

Each purchase comes with the opportunity to bring one additional person from your team. Sometimes it is helpful to have another person working with you on your content marketing calendar. For this reason, you can bring one person to collaborate with you on
this process. However, you must both be working on the same project. The person attending with you does not need their own ticket, simply mention they are with you when you arrive.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of parking at The Frontier. Also, the 800 and 805 buses have stops in front of the building.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

There is no need to bring your printed ticket. Actually, we would prefer you don't print the ticket. OptSus Marketing stands for Optimum Sustainable Marketing - we are working to build a sustainable business. This means avoiding printed tickets, but it extends to offering affordable workshops that help you build a sustainable business.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

If they name on your registration doesn't match the person in attendance, this is not a problem. Each ticket secures a seat at the workshop and some businesses send an employee or business partner in their place. This is a common situation that is not a problem.

Can I add an extra hour to get more done?

Yes, I host a WordPress Help Desk event right after this workshop. Simply sign up for that event and stick around for an extra hour of work on your site.
