As the pace of change in economies and societies continues to increase across the globe, how does progress become validated and broadly understood as new technologies and business models undermine the traditional news media cycle? The emergence of new, entrepreneurial solutions in business, government, education and commerce often confuse a public that is frequently overwhelmed with information but bereft of understanding.
At our first Disrupt of 2015 we'll hear from two Eisenhower Fellows that work in the modern media industry and are using their fellowship to try to understand the complexities of the ever changing industry.
Alfonso Pero | Chile - As the Political Editor for El Mercurio newspaper, Alfonso Pero is studying newspaper and media trends along with the traditional media's use of technological platforms, social media and the relationship between American political institutions and the media.
Noelle Lim | Malaysia - Hosting and producing a radio show that features Malaysian change makers and entrepreneurs has given Noelle Lim an insider's view into the world of business and education. She is studying to launch a project that will connect low-income students in Malaysia and Southeast Asia to the best schools in the U.S., U.K. and Australia.
Networking with local beer and snacks will begin at 5:00pm with the speakers starting at 5:30pm. Refreshments will be served after the talks have concluded.
