The annual NIEHS Biomedical Career Symposium, now in its 19th year, is one of the largest assemblies of biomedical organizations and young scientists in Research Triangle Park, NC. Targeting postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, the Career Symposium provides young scientists with an opportunity to explore a myriad of career options and create a contact network as they plan for their future careers in the biomedical sciences.
This year, we feature 10 workshops covering a wide range of topics such as networking, managing conflict, negotiating, preparing a resume, international job searching, and grant writing. We also feature 9 career panel discussions, highlighting such fields as science policy, clinical diagnostics, therapeutic development, and writing/communication. Over one-hundred 25-minute CV/resume/career consultations will be available on a first come-first served basis throughout the day. We also feature a networking lunch and afternoon networking reception, with the chance to gain greater insight into the hiring process, job position types/description, & available internships from local CRO HR Representatives.
