Kristie VanAuken serves as the Foundation’s Vice President of Stakeholder Engagement. In this newly created role, she works to strategically position the Park through strengthening RTP tenant, university, and regional partner relationships.
In addition, Kristie leads the marketing and communications team, helping to differentiate and reinforce RTP as a leader in creating and cultivating science and technology parks. She leads and staffs the RTP owners and tenants association, administers the RTP special tax district and coordinates its activities with the governing Durham and Wake counties. She also serves as the key staff member for both the TUSCASI and the RTP Charitable Fund. Finally, VanAuken supervises the award-winning STEM in the Park program manager and team.
VanAuken joined the Research Triangle Foundation with more than 22 years of experience in strategic and community partnership cultivation in the aviation/airport industry, most recently as vice president, communications and community affairs for the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. Prior to relocating to the Triangle, VanAuken was Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications for Akron-Canton Airport and worked for the the Greater Akron Chamber before that. Additionally, while in Ohio, she served on the Development Finance Authority of Summit County’s Board of Directors.
