Description
“Inside the NCI SBIR Development Center”
Federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants are a key mechanism by which early-stage life sciences companies can advance their technology towards key commercial milestones required by customers, corporate partners or institutional investors. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) recently reorganized its SBIR program and created the NCI SBIR Development Center. This Center is unique in that it focuses on the administration of SBIR grants and contracts, independent of the agency’s basic science research programs.
This NCBiotech Entrepreneurship Essentials session will feature Deepa Narayanan, Program Director, NCI SBIR Development Center, who will discuss:
- The SBIR program: a broad overview
- SBIR Reauthorization (NIH focus)
- NCI SBIR Funding Opportunities
- NCI SBIR Commercialization Initiatives
- Tips for submitting a successful NCI SBIR application
Ms. Narayanan will also meet one-on-one with individual companies following the seminar. Please indicate your interest in scheduling a brief meeting when you register. We may not be able to accommodate scheduling requests made on the day of the seminar.
