SIGNATURE EVENT: The North Carolina Science Festival is bringing Neil deGrasse Tyson, host of PBS’s NOVA scienceNOW, to the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill.
“An Evening with Neil deGrasse Tyson” will begin at 7:30 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2012, in UNC-Chapel Hill’s Memorial Hall. Join Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, renowned astrophysicist and regular guest on The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, as he presents “Ten Things Everybody Should Know About the Universe,” followed by a question and answer session with members of the audience.
Tyson is the current director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space, as well as a research associate at the American Museum of Natural History. He is also the host of NOVA scienceNOW on PBS, and will be featured on the sequel to Carl Sagan’s award-winning television series, Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. Tyson earned his B.A. in physics from Harvard University and his Ph.D. in astrophysics from Columbia University. A regular on The Daily Show, The Colbert Report and Real Time with Bill Maher, he is well-regarded in the scientific community and popular culture for his distinguished research career and his efforts to make science more interesting and accessible to the American public.

BUY TICKETS now at the UNC Memorial Hall website. Ticket prices range from $18 to $52.
A limited number of VIP tickets are available at $125 per person. Each VIP ticket includes an exclusive pre-show planetarium viewing at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center with remarks by Dr. Tyson, starting at 5:30 pm; light refreshments; reserved stage-front seating at Memorial Hall; and a North Carolina Science Festival t-shirt.
