Fellows Fred Anderson and Andrew Cayton have done extensive research into the development of colonial North America. Through the study of social, economic and cultural history of the era, they have discovered a more fragmented version of history, which has transformed the way scholars examine the early history of the United States. The two have collaborated on one book, and are both currently working together on Imperial America, 1672-1764, which is a volume in The Oxford History of the United States.
