The Geminid meteor shower is predicted to be spectacular this year! Join us to lay back, relax with friends, and watch fireballs streak across the sky! Hot beverages will be provided to help keep you warm and UNC astronomers will be on hand to answer questions. Meteors will be visible the entire night of December 13-14 with rates up to 120/hr or greater.

The GPSF will be watching the whole night from Finley Athletic Fields. In addition to grad students, we're inviting as much of the UNC and Chapel Hill community as we can.

We'll be providing warm beverages to keep everyone in good spirits.

Anyone wishing to bring portable telescopes would be more than welcome!
