New Lithium Battery Shipping Requirements
Please join the Environment@rtp committee for a lunch and learn featuring Bob Richard, Vice President of Government Affairs for Labelmaster Software discussing the challenges of shipping lithium batteries and the new air transportation regulations that come into force on January 1, 2013. Bob will also cover "reverse logistics" as it related to hazmat shipments.
About Our Speaker
Bob has been involved in the
development and implementation of hazardous materials safety regulations
for more than 25 years, and has been responsible for a broad range of
domestic and international hazardous materials safety efforts, including
the development of the current international and domestic infectious
substances regulations. In his current role as Labelmaster Services Vice
President of Regulatory and Government Affairs, Bob provides provide
dangerous goods regulatory assistance to customers worldwide drawing on
his vast experience, knowledge of the Hazardous Materials Regulations
and a network of dangerous goods professionals.
Prior to joining Labelmaster Services, Bob served as the Deputy Associate Administrator for Hazardous Materials Safety with the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) at the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he was responsible for directing approximately 150 hazardous materials transportation specialists and the day to day operation of the US Hazardous Materials Transportation Safety.
