The website at www.rtp.org (the “Website”) is administered by the The Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina (the “RTF”), whose primary purpose is to provide information and resources for Research Triangle Park (“RTP”) companies and employees, affiliated organizations, potential RTP tenants, and those interested in research parks and their impacts. We respect the privacy of our members and other visitors to this Website.      

RTF collects personal information, voluntarily submitted by visitors to the www.rtp.org website, which enables us to respond to requests for information, briefings, and attendance at events. RTF also collects anonymous information to help us tailor the Website to visitor interests and concerns. We use “cookies” to help us understand which parts of our Website are the most popular, where our visitors are going and how much time they spend there. Information gathered is solely used to improve the design and functionality of the Website. This Website is functional without the retention of cookies. You may elect to block cookies from this site through use of your browser settings.  We also collect information directly when you voluntarily submit it to us.

 

Throughout our site, we provide the opportunity to request more information and to RSVP for events.  While RTF strives to protect the confidentiality of all information transmitted by visitors to our Website, no transmission of data is completely secure and therefore these submissions are at the visitor’s risk.  

 

For certain events with attendance or reservation fees, we utilize PayPal™ to provide account and payment services.  PayPal™ is an independent company and all information gathered by, or submitted to, PayPal™ is subject to the privacy policies and terms of use described on the PayPal™ website.  

All information and data collected by or through the Website (the “Data”) may be preserved indefinitely and used at any time and in any way necessary to prevent security breaches and to insure the integrity of the Data on our servers.  We may share certain Data gathered directly through the Website – such your email or postal address – with RTP companies and/or their employees and with our business partners and affiliates.   Certain information or linked websites are provided by third parties. The RTP does not control the content or privacy practices of third-party websites and is not responsible for the use of your information by such parties. 

RTF places the utmost importance on responsible and secure handling of your personal data in accordance with applicable laws. Personally identifiable information that is online – such a listing in our Membership Directory – is accessible only by current RTF staff. You are entitled to know whether we hold information about you and, if we do, to have access to that information and require it to be corrected if it is inaccurate. You can do this by emailing RTF.  

 

RTF shall not be liable under any circumstances for damages resulting from use of information collected from visitors to the site. RTF may change this privacy policy to reflect changes in the way we collect visitor information.
