Knowledge Assets

There are ten institutions of higher education within a 60-mile radius of RTP, including Duke University in Durham; North Carolina State University in Raleigh; and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  These three flagship universities totaled $1.6 billion in R&D expenditures in 2007.  Currently, there are 117,323 students enrolled in the ten Research Triangle universities and colleges.
