US2020 Research Triangle Park (RTP) will be hosting their annual Spring expo on Friday April 7th, 2017. The theme for this year’s expo revolves around innovations made in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields today. During the expo, students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on demonstrations, participate in speed mentoring, as well as participate in a new engaging session known as STEM TANK. Akin to Shark Tank, students will have the opportunity to present solutions to a current STEM problem to a panel of judges for session prizes.

The expo will take place at The Frontier, 800 Park Offices Drive from 9:00am to 1:30pm. Over 400 students from counties across the state will attend this event and meet presenters from Triangle STEM companies such as Biogen, IBM, CREE, RedHat, and the EPA, along with higher education institutions from around the Triangle.

Expos are a crucial part of the US2020 RTP model, and are utilized to expose the diverse range of possibilities in STEM to students from partner schools. US2020 RTP also facilitates mentoring, tours, internships, externships, and more opportunities to these specific students to widen their exposure to STEM.
