On December 4th from 6 to 8 pm the HBA RTP Chapter is hosting an End of the Year celebration at The RTP Conference Center. The evening will feature a silent auction and raffle to benefit the Susan G. Komen® North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate (Susan G. Komen NCTC). This event is open to all – members and non-members. Members are encouraged to invite their partners to meet their HBA family! Come help us celebrate our chapter's accomplishments, network with women leaders in healthcare, and raise funds to support the Susan G.
Local fashion design firm MEFIVER will be debuting their new line of men and women's denim at Sunday's showcase. Hosted at Bida Manda in downtown Raleigh, this locally grown brand will have a fashion show and reception for attendees.
Dr. Alex Hummel will present on "Thermal Protective Performance of Textile Fabrics and Clothing” which will simulate what happens to firefighters’ protective gear when they walk into a variety of situations – from burning buildings to forest fires. Dr. Hummel is speaking on behalf of TPACC (the Textile Protection and Comfort Center of North Carolina State University).
Dr. Hummel will be presenting as part of AATCC’s bi-annual meeting, as part of the “Flammability Technology” expose.
Dr. Michael T. Fralix, President and CEO, TC2 has interesting things to say about the new 3D Printing technology as well as 3D Body Scanning —the technology is here now to get precise individual measurements an d get better-fitting clothing.
Dr. Fralix will be presenting as part of AATCC’s bi-annual meeting, as part of a “Concept 2 Consumer Interest Group.”

TEDxUNC is an independently-organized TED event at UNC Chapel Hill created and run entirely by students. TEDxUNC 2014 will be held in Memorial Hall on Saturday, February 15, 2014.
