RTI International Opens Office in Beijing

Press release from RTI International

RTI International has opened an office in Beijing as part of an effort to expand RTI's work with existing U.S. government clients and U.S.-based multinational companies with operations in China.

The Beijing office, located in the Chaoyang District, will focus primarily on research, capacity building and training in the fields of health, environment, energy and education.

"RTI's growing presence in Beijing increases our ability to develop cooperative partnerships with Chinese researchers, scientists and policymakers," said Wayne Holden, executive vice president of Social, Statistical and Environmental Sciences. "These partnerships are vital to understanding the many social, scientific and environmental challenges associated with China's growth and changing demographics, and will provide access to expertise that can support our U.S.-based research and scientific operations."

RTI's work in China places an emphasis on public health research and interventions, air quality monitoring, water quality and sanitation, energy technology and economics, and education system management and assessment. The Beijing office will support these efforts through collaboration with national and subnational government agencies, development of public-private partnerships and collaborative applied research.

Since 1998, RTI has conducted numerous projects in China focused on areas of education, public health, air quality, tobacco research and HIV/AIDS prevention.
